Twelve former ministers and state officials from Sheikh Hasina’s regime have been summoned to appear before the International Crimes Tribunal for their involvement in the July-August killings and genocide.
On February 18, a total of 16 individuals, including former Law Minister Anisul Haque, ex-Prime Minister’s private industry and investment advisor Salman F Rahman, and former State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, were brought before the International Crimes Tribunal for alleged crimes against humanity. The accused are linked to mass killings and genocidal acts during the July-August period, with investigations into these charges ongoing.
Other notable figures in the case include current and former ministers of the ruling Awami League, such as Faruk Khan, Dipu Moni, Abdul Razzak, Shahjahan Khan, Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, and others. The tribunal, led by Chairman Justice Mohammad Golam Mortuza Majumdaar, will conduct hearings on their involvement in these grave crimes.
Liberty News court correspondent states this case follows an earlier report submitted on December 16, with the tribunal setting the deadline for February 18 for submitting investigation findings into the matter.
