Thirteen Pakistani soldiers have been killed in recent cross-border attacks by Indian armed forces, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Pakistan’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR accused Indian forces of launching “unprovoked, shameless, and cowardly” attacks on the nights of May 6 and 7, targeting six locations inside Pakistani territory. The assault reportedly struck civilians, including women, children, and the elderly.

Two of the injured soldiers died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment, raising the total military death toll to 13. The ISPR identified them as Havildar Mohammad Naveed of the Pakistan Army and Senior Technician Mohammad Ayaz of the Pakistan Air Force.

The statement highlighted that 78 Pakistani soldiers were also injured during the conflict and are currently receiving treatment at military hospitals.

Additionally, Pakistani authorities reported the death of 40 civilians, including women and children, and injuries to 121 others due to Indian strikes.

India launched “Operation Sindoor” on May 7, targeting nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir with missiles and drones. The operation followed a militant attack in Pahalgam, which India claims involved Pakistani elements.

In retaliation, Pakistan struck Indian military positions. The escalating conflict has reportedly killed at least 70 civilians on both sides. Indian military sources claim 35 to 40 Pakistani soldiers have been killed between May 7 and 10 along the Line of Control (LoC).

India also confirmed the loss of five of its soldiers during the operation, vowing to honor their sacrifice.
