To facilitate the travel of pilgrims for the World Ijtema, Bangladesh Railway will operate 14 special trains. These trains will be in service during the Ijtema. This information was obtained from a management letter published by the Chief Operating Superintendent’s office of Bangladesh Railway Eastern Region.
According to the letter, tomorrow, Friday, a pair of trains named ‘Juma Special’ will operate. Juma Special-1 will depart from Dhaka at 9:30 AM and reach Tongi at 10:15 AM. Juma Special-2 will depart from Tongi station at 3:00 PM and reach Dhaka at 3:45 PM.
Two special trains will operate from Jamalpur and Tangail on Saturday (February 1). The first train will depart from Jamalpur at 9:15 AM and reach Tongi station at 2:15 PM. The second train will depart from Tangail at 12:00 PM and reach Tongi at 1:20 PM.
Additionally, on the day of the final prayer (Akhari Munajat) on Sunday, 10 trains will be operated. Among them, Dhaka-Tongi Special-1 will depart from Dhaka at 4:45 AM, Dhaka-Tongi Special-2 will depart at 5:00 AM, Dhaka-Tongi Special-3 will depart at 5:25 AM, and Dhaka-Tongi Special-4 will depart at 5:50 AM.
Liberty News’ national affairs correspondent reports that on the return journey from Tongi station, Tongi-Dhaka Special-1 will depart from Tongi station at 8:35 AM, Tongi-Dhaka Special-2 will depart at 9:42 AM, Tongi-Dhaka Special-3 will depart at 10:40 AM, Tongi-Dhaka Special-4 will depart at 11:07 AM, Tongi-Mymensingh Special-1 will depart at 12:20 PM, and finally, Tongi-Tangail Special-2 will depart at 12:50 PM.
