Three construction workers lost their lives after falling from the sixth floor of an under-construction building in the Khorki Circuit Housepara area of Jashore town on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mizanur Rahman (35), an engineer from Kushtia district; Azizul, the site manager from Dinajpur; and Nuru (45), a construction worker from Maharajpur village in Chapainawabganj.
According to eyewitnesses, the victims were working on the sixth-floor balcony of the eight-storey building when it suddenly collapsed around 11:30 am, causing them to fall and die on the spot.
Locals immediately rushed them to Jashore General Hospital, where doctors declared all three dead upon arrival.
Sub-Inspector Zahid of Kotwali Police Station confirmed the incident, saying an investigation is underway and legal action will be taken against those responsible. He added that the bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
