The Supreme Court’s (SC) full-panel on Tuesday decided to promote over 300 lower court judges as District Judges. The list will be sent to the Law Ministry soon for final approval.
Over 200 other lower court judges will also be promoted to the rank of additional district judge following the ministry’s approval, the justices decided.
Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed presided over the full-panel meeting between 3pm and 5pm on the apex court premises.
In total, 20 issues were expected to be discussed in the meeting, but not all could be raised due to time constraints, including the approval of SC’s calendar.
