Google has launched four new features for Android users, offering significant benefits. These features not only protect users from fraudulent or scam messages but also provide safer location-sharing options, the ability to view prices while web browsing, and entertainment opportunities while parking their vehicles.
Google Messages Scam Detection Feature
The new scam detection feature in Google Messages uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify the types of texts used by scammers. If a suspicious scam message appears, users will see a warning labeled “Likely Scam.” They will then be presented with two options: “Not a Scam” and “Report and Block.”
The company has stated that the new scam detection feature uses AI within Google Messages to detect fraud in messages and provide real-time alerts to users. This detection process will take place within the phone, ensuring user privacy is maintained.
Google has stated that this feature is specifically designed to prevent scammers from financially harming Android users. The entire process of identifying messages will take place within the user’s phone, ensuring that personal privacy is protected.
Live Location Sharing
Google is introducing a new “Live Location” feature in the Find My Device app, allowing users to share their live location with trusted individuals. Similar to Apple’s Find My app, this feature will display the user’s location on a map. Users can choose a specific time frame for sharing their location—such as 1 hour, 1 day, a custom duration, or indefinitely.
Additionally, users will be able to see the battery level of the phone of those with whom they are sharing their location.
Chrome’s New Price Tracking Feature
Google’s new feature in Chrome will help users with their shopping experience by tracking the prices of various products on shopping sites. When the price of a product drops, users will receive a notification via a new icon in the Chrome address bar. This will also show the price history of that product.
New Games in Android Auto
Google has introduced new games in Android Auto that users can play while their car is parked. These games include Farm Heroes Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Angry Birds 2, and Beach Buggy Racing. However, these games can only be played when the car is parked, ensuring that users are not distracted while driving.
These new features will be available to Android users within the next week.
