Five people were killed and at least five others injured after a bus hit a human hauler on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Faridpur’s Bhanga upazila on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened at about 6:30 AM at Bablatola Bus Stand area under Chumurdi Union when a Dhaka-bound ‘Mizan Paribahan’ bus smashed a Tekerhat-bound three-wheeler, locally known as Mahendra.
The deceased could not be identified immediately. But it was learnt that, four of the deceased, who died on the scene, were the passengers of Mahendra.
Another one succumbed to his injuries on way to a local hospital, confirmed Bhanga Fire Service in-charge Abu Jafar.
He said the bus managed to flee.
Bhanga Highway Police Station OC Md Rokibuzzaman said a police force was sent to the accident spot.
