53 police officers transferred

A major reshuffle has taken place in Bangladesh Police, with 53 officers being transferred simultaneously. Among them, 19 are Additional Deputy Inspectors General (ADIG), 33 are Superintendents of Police (SP), and one holds the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police.

The transfers were made through two separate notifications issued by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Department of Public Security on Thursday, February 27. The notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman.

According to one notification, Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Additional DIG of Mymensingh Range, has been transferred to APBN-1 in Dhaka. Additional DIG Sardar Roknuzzaman, previously serving at 8 APBN, has been moved to the CID. Kh. Faridul Islam from DMP has been transferred to RAB, and Muhammad Mahabubur Rahman from DMP has also been transferred to RAB, along with 21 other officers.

In another notification, Additional DIG Raihan Uddin Khan from the Police Headquarters has been transferred to the CID. Police Superintendent Ahmedul Kabir, who was previously transferred to BMP, has now been appointed AIG at the Police Headquarters. Abdullah Al Jahir has also been appointed AIG at the Police Headquarters, while Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Deputy Police Commissioner from DMP, has been transferred to CID, among 32 other officers.
