UN Secretary-General meets Foreign Affairs Adviser in Dhaka

On the second day of his visit to Bangladesh, UN Secretary-General António Guterres held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain.

The meeting commenced at 9:00 AM on Friday (March 14) at the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka.

Later in the day, Guterres will travel to Cox’s Bazar, where he will be briefed on the current situation of the Rohingya refugees, with a particular focus on the funding shortage issue. He is also expected to interact with local residents.

Liberty News’ national correspondent states that he will attend an Iftar gathering with 100,000 Rohingya refugees in the evening before returning to Dhaka the same night. Chief Adviser Dr. Yunus will accompany him during the visit.
