Bangladesh’s new football sensation, Hamza Dewan Chowdhury, expressed his desire to secure a win against India in the upcoming Asian Cup qualifiers. The star midfielder of Sheffield United made his arrival in Bangladesh on Monday afternoon at Sylhet’s Osmani Airport, where he shared his excitement with the press.

Hamza Chowdhury, an avid footballer – whose mother is Bangladeshi and father is Grenadian, arrived at 11:40 AM and was welcomed by eager fans. He had received a Bangladeshi passport in August last year and, in December, was granted clearance to play for the Bangladesh national team. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting his debut.

The 25-year-old footballer is set to make his first appearance for Bangladesh on March 25, when the team faces India in an important Asian Cup qualifying match. If he takes to the field, Hamza will become the first English league footballer to play in South Asian football, creating a historic milestone.

Liberty News’ sports correspondent states that Chowdhury began his professional career with Leicester City in 2015 and recently joined Sheffield United on loan. There is speculation that he may sign a permanent contract with the club in the near future.
