A 33-year-old internet businessman, Suman, was shot dead in front of Police Plaza in Gulshan, Dhaka, on March 20. The assailants shot him in the head, and he was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Suman, a resident of Mithapukur, Rangpur, was shot by unidentified assailants around 9 PM in front of the Gulshan-1 shooting club. He was immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Witnesses reported that the assailant was wearing a white shirt and black pants. Police are currently investigating the incident and have launched a manhunt to capture the suspects. Suman had multiple cases against him, according to police sources.

The officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station, Mahmudur Rahman, confirmed the shooting incident, stating that efforts are being made to gather more information about the assailants. As of now, no arrests have been made.

Suman was previously a prominent internet service provider in the Mohakhali area but lost his business after political changes in August of the previous year. Local opposition groups allegedly harassed him and forced him out of business, cutting off his lines. Despite the challenges, he continued to face difficulties, eventually leading to his tragic death.

Suman’s wife, Mousumi, spoke to the media, confirming that she was informed by the police that Suman was taken to the hospital but was unaware of the details. She shared that her husband had been driven out of his business due to local opposition pressure and that his lines had been cut off.

Suman’s family resides in a rented house in Mohakhali, after moving from the quarters where his wife worked at the TB Hospital.
