Popular Dhallywood actress Afia Nusrat Barsha has announced her decision to quit acting after returning from performing Umrah Hajj. She is now focusing on religious practices and spiritual life.

At a press conference on Thursday, Barsha stated that she will not take on any new projects once her ongoing films are completed.

A viral video from the press conference captured her saying, “I have a few films in hand, which will take some time to finish. After that, I will not act in any new films.”

When asked about the reason behind her decision, Barsha explained, “I am a realist and believe that actresses look good on screen only up to a certain age. That is how I see it for myself too. Besides, my elder son is 10, and my younger one is 7. In a few years, my eldest will be 14 or 15. If he sees his mother as a film actress, what will he think? Keeping all this in mind, I have decided to leave acting.”

Liberty News’ entertainment correspondent states that her husband, actor and producer Ananta Jalil, supported her decision, saying, “Barsha is younger than many current actresses in our industry, yet she has made this decision.”
