Former Member of Parliament from Kishoreganj-5 (Bajitpur) constituency, Afzal Hossain, has been arrested by police in Meherpur.
Afzal Hossain, the former MP of Kishoreganj-5 (Bajitpur), was arrested early on Monday (March 24) in a police raid at the house of Mamun Hossain in Taher Clinic Para, Meherpur town. Mamun Hossain, who is an employee of Afzal Su Company, is believed to have provided shelter to the former MP.
The police used technology to track down Afzal Hossain’s location. Mamun Hossain was taken to the police station for questioning. He is an employee of Afzal Su Company and resides in Taher Clinic Para.
Liberty News’ local correspondent states that confirming the arrest, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, Mezba Uddin, said a team from Kishoreganj district police was heading to Meherpur. They are expected to hand over Afzal Hossain to the police later in the afternoon.
