Jashore’s newly appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawnak Jahan has pledged to take all necessary measures to restore public trust in the police force, affirming that no mercy will be shown to criminals.

Speaking at a meet-and-greet with local journalists at the district police conference room on Tuesday afternoon, SP Rawnak Jahan emphasized her commitment to maintaining law and order.

“We will do whatever it takes to bring the police back into the confidence of the people. There will be no mercy for criminals,” she declared.

Rawnak Jahan further stated that efforts to apprehend murderers and muggers are already underway. “Illegal weapons will be confiscated, and armed criminals will be arrested to ensure public safety and peace of mind,” she added.

Prominent figures including Press Club President Zahid Hasan Tukun, former president Ekram-Ud-Doula, General Secretary SM Touhidur Rahman, and former general secretary Ahsan Kabir discussed the district’s overall law and order situation during the event.

Liberty News’ local correspondent states that Rawnak Jahan joined as Jeshore’s SP earlier this month, marking a historic milestone as the first female officer to hold the top position in the country’s oldest district police force. Prior to this, another female officer, Reshma Sharmin, served as SP of Jeshore PBI.
