Bangladesh Army : Honorary Commissions awarded for Independence Day

In celebration of the Great Independence and National Day, the Bangladesh Army has awarded honorary commissions to 14 Honorary Lieutenants, promoting them to Honorary Captains, and granted commissions (with the rank of Honorary Lieutenant) to 25 Master Warrant Officers.

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that 14 honorary lieutenants in the Bangladesh Army have been promoted to honorary captain ranks.

The officers receiving the promotion include:

  1. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Abdul Kafi Sarker (Artillery)
  2. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Shahinur Islam (Artillery)
  3. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Mahabur Rahman (Engineers)
  4. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Helal Uddin (Engineers)
  5. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Ziaur Rahman (Engineers)
  6. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Zahurul Islam (Signals)
  7. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Amirul Islam (ASC)
  8. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam (Ordnance)
  9. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Harun-Or-Rashid (Ordnance)
  10. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Main Uddin Bhuiyan (EME)
  11. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Selim Bhuiya (EME)
  12. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Shah Alam (ASC)
  13. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Matiur Rahman (AMC)
  14. Honorary Capt. Mohammad Alal Uddin (AMC)

Besides, 25 Master Warrant Officers from different corps of the Army have been given honorary commissions and awarded the rank of Honorary Lieutenant.

The honorary commissions will be effective from March 26, 2025, honoring these dedicated officers for their exceptional service to the Bangladesh Army.
