At least 40 Palestinians were killed and 146 injured in the past 24 hours as Israeli forces launched fresh airstrikes across various areas of the Gaza Strip, pushing the death toll in the besieged enclave to nearly 50,900 since October 2023.
Israeli bombardments continued across multiple locations in Gaza, killing at least 40 more Palestinians and injuring 146 others within the last 24 hours, according to the latest report published on Thursday (April 10) by Anadolu Agency, citing Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The statement from the ministry revealed that many of the injured were trapped under rubble, further complicating rescue efforts. The cumulative death toll in Gaza since the onset of Israel’s military offensive in October last year now stands at approximately 50,900, with over 115,875 people injured.
“Many victims remain under debris or lying on roads inaccessible to rescue teams,” the ministry added, emphasizing the dire humanitarian situation on the ground.
Since March 18, when a renewed wave of Israeli airstrikes began, at least 1,522 Palestinians have been killed and more than 3,800 wounded. The recent escalation has shattered the ceasefire agreement that came into effect in January 2024, raising further international concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Liberty News’ international correspondent states that the densely populated Gaza Strip remains under siege, with critical infrastructure devastated, hospitals overwhelmed, and thousands of civilians in desperate need of aid and protection.
