The Maldives has officially banned the entry of Israeli citizens, reinforcing its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, President Mohamed Muizzu’s office confirmed on Tuesday.

Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu has signed a legal order barring Israeli nationals from entering the country, a decision that takes immediate effect. The move was announced in a statement from the President’s Office and reported by Anadolu Agency.

“The Maldives reiterates its firm solidarity with the Palestinian people,” the official statement read. A spokesperson further confirmed to international media that the entry ban is now in force and reflects the nation’s strong opposition to Israel’s ongoing violations of international law.

The government also reaffirmed its longstanding support for a two-state solution, calling for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital—aligned with UN resolutions and international legal frameworks.

Liberty News’ international correspondent states that the Maldives has consistently raised its voice against Israeli actions on global platforms and continues to demand accountability for breaches of international norms.
