Hamas has declared its unwavering commitment to continue resistance against Israeli occupation until the total defeat of the aggressor, rejecting any claims of Israeli victory in Gaza.

Palestinian resistance group Hamas has reiterated its stance that it will fight on until Israel is defeated, vowing not to accept occupation under any circumstances. This declaration was reported by Al Jazeera, quoting a statement from Hamas.

“The desire for victory by Netanyahu, and his attempt to destroy Rafah, is merely a desperate cover-up for the Israeli military’s failure in Gaza and an effort to mislead the public,” Hamas stated.

The group emphasized that, “Our resistance will continue until the occupiers admit defeat. Rafah will stand as a symbol of resilience, and a nightmare that will ultimately drive the aggressors away.”

The conflict reignited on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack inside Israel, killing around 1,200 Israelis and taking nearly 250 hostages. In response, Israel initiated a relentless assault on Gaza, resulting in over 53,300 deaths and 116,416 injuries, more than half of whom were women and children, according to health authorities in Gaza.

After a temporary ceasefire under international pressure that began on January 19, Israel resumed its military offensive on March 18, killing over 2,000 more civilians and injuring more than 5,000 in the latest wave of attacks. Hamas continues to portray this struggle as one for dignity, liberation, and the defense of Palestinian lives.
