BRAC Bank has been honoured with the Best Digital Signature User Award for its innovative use of digital signature technology in procurement, marking a significant milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey.

The award was presented at the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Summit 2025, organised by the Controller of Certifying Authorities (CCA) under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Brig Gen Md Amin Akbar (Retd), Head of General Services at BRAC Bank, accepted the award from Special Adviser ICT, Fayez Ahmad Taiyeb.

BRAC Bank was the first in the banking industry to embed Bangladesh Bank-mandated digital certificates into its work order and purchase order processes, beginning in 2022. For the past four years, the bank’s Procurement Team has consistently used digital signatures to streamline operations, enhance document authenticity, and reduce financial risks.

Every work order issued is digitally signed, ensuring full traceability and strengthening vendor accountability. The bank noted that the system has helped eliminate forgery risks and significantly improved transparency in procurement.

In a statement, BRAC Bank said the recognition reflects its dedication to governance, transparency, and operational excellence. The bank reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and leadership in digital banking practices in Bangladesh.
