The government has formed a new pay commission for employees and officials under the national pay scale.
“The Council of Advisers, led by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, on Thursday formed a new Pay Commission for employees and officials who are under the National Pay Scale,” said a statement issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Thursday.
The commission, to be headed by former Finance Secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan, has been asked to submit its report within six months, the statement read.
At present, government employees receive salaries and allowances under the 2015 pay scale, with around 15 lakh public servants in service.
