Dhaka Abahani has secured a place in the Federation Cup qualifiers as group champions, maintaining a flawless record with four wins and no goals conceded. The Sky Blues sealed their spot with a 2-0 victory over Rahmatganj, continuing their dominant run in the tournament.

Abahani’s perfect run in Group B saw them collect 12 points from four matches, keeping a clean sheet in each game. Alongside them, Old Dhaka’s Rahmatganj also advanced to the qualifiers.

In another match, Mohammedan Sporting Club secured a 5-2 victory over Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club. However, both teams had already been eliminated from the tournament before this fixture.

The clash between Abahani and Rahmatganj at Kings Arena was highly competitive. Enamul Gazi put Abahani ahead in the 12th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse from Rahmatganj. Shahriar Imon’s pass found Gazi unmarked inside the box, and he slotted the ball home with precision. Captain Hridoy doubled the lead in the second half, securing Abahani’s win.

Meanwhile, at the Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh, Mohammedan avenged their previous league defeat by thrashing ten-man Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club 5-2. Just a week ago, Mohammedan had suffered a 1-0 loss to Fakirerpool, making this victory even sweeter.

Liberty News’ sports correspondent reports that Mohammedan’s Moinul Islam and Arif Hossain each scored twice, while Fakirerpool defender Sabbir Hossain added an own goal. Fakirerpool’s Raphael Tudu and Akbir Turayev found the net for their side. Their hopes took a further hit when midfielder Ganto received a second yellow card in the 67th minute, reducing them to ten men.
