Law enforcement agencies arrested a accused in 22 cases at Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla district on Tuesday night.
A team from 33rd Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army conducted a raid at a rented house at Bhulirpar village under Gauripur union and apprehended him.
The arrested individual is Mamun Samrat, from Sholakandi village under Titas upazila of the district.
According to Daudkandi Model Police Station and members of the joint forces, Mamun is accused in a total of 22 cases, including murder, robbery, drug trafficking and abduction.
During the operation, Mamun’s associate Abdul Kader was also arrested by law enforcers.
Daudkandi Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Zunaid Chowdhury said that after the arrest, Mamun and his associate were handed over to Daudkandi Model Police Station. After filing cases under the Arms and Narcotics Acts, they have been sent to Cumilla Jail on Wednesday.
