As part of its Eid-ul-Azha travel arrangements, Bangladesh Railway begins selling advance tickets today for June 5 intercity trains, aiming to ensure a smooth journey home for holiday travelers.

To facilitate the annual rush of holidaymakers ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh Railway has launched its advance ticketing program. Today, tickets for intercity trains scheduled for June 5—the sixth day of Eid travel—are being released for sale exclusively online.

The sale of tickets began at 8:00 AM for trains operating under the Western Zone, while tickets for Eastern Zone trains will go on sale at 2:00 PM. In total, 33,315 seats are being made available on intercity trains departing from Dhaka to various destinations across the country.

According to the railway’s Eid operations plan, advance ticket sales started on May 21 for May 31 travel and continued progressively. Tickets for June 1, 2, 3, and 4 were sold between May 22 and May 25. Tickets for June 6 will be available on May 27.

As per the railway’s special arrangement, tickets for seven days of travel before Eid are being sold in advance, with strict rules in place. Each passenger can purchase a maximum of four seats in one transaction, and the tickets are non-refundable.

The entire ticketing process is being conducted online to reduce crowding and streamline access, ensuring a safer and more convenient experience for Eid travelers.
