Ahead of the ‘March for Gaza’ in Dhaka, Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmadullah has urged participants to uphold peace and discipline by following five key guidelines.

A major protest titled ‘March for Gaza’, organized by the Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh, is set to take place in Dhaka on Saturday. Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmadullah, who will attend the march, issued five directives via his verified Facebook page on Friday morning.

In his message, he emphasized:

  1. Every participant should act with a spirit of volunteerism and take ownership of the event.
  2. Cleanliness must be maintained along the route, and participants should carry personal items like water, umbrellas, and masks. Medical aid will be available through on-site volunteers.
  3. Avoid any provocation, maintain discipline, and cooperate with law enforcement in any situation.
  4. Refrain from carrying any political party symbols; only creative banners and the flags of Bangladesh and Palestine should be used.
  5. Identify and resist any attempts at vandalism or sabotage. “We must remember,” he said, “oppression cannot be countered by further oppression.”

Liberty News’ national affairs correspondent states that the protest will span from Shahbagh to Manik Mia Avenue.
