Police arrested an Awami League leader, who is also a union parishad chairma, in a case filed over the attack on students durinmg the July uprising in Moulvibazar’s Kamalganj upazila on Monday.
The arrested man is Niaz Morshed, chairman of Alinagar union in the upazila and a local AL leader.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in the area and arrested him from his house, said Soyad Ifthar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kamalganj Police Station.
