BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury emphasized that the restoration of democratic order in Bangladesh can only be achieved through elections, with no alternative.
Speaking at a memorial meeting on Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury’s third death anniversary at the National Press Club, Khosru argued that reforms must occur through democratic processes and not through any undemocratic means. He asserted that the people of Bangladesh, not any individual or external entity, hold the right to decide the nation’s future reforms. Reforms will be determined based on public support and parliamentary discussions.
He further criticized those who believe that leadership is in the hands of a few and reminded that the ownership of Bangladesh lies with its people. The event, chaired by Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, was attended by prominent leaders from various political parties, including the Jatiya Party and the Gano Oikkyo.
