A member of the anti-discrimination student movement, Mobasshir Hossain, was shot by unidentified assailants in front of the Gazipur Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday evening.
Mobasshir Hossain, a youth activist of the Gazipur District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, was shot in the right arm by attackers on a motorcycle. The incident took place shortly after the protest had concluded, while he and his fellow activists were preparing to visit injured students.
Speaking to journalists after the attack, Mobasshir expressed concerns over his safety and stated that he had informed the Superintendent of Police in Gazipur about the incident. He plans to visit Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital once law enforcement arrives.
Liberty News’ local correspondent states that local police are investigating the attack, but the identities of the assailants remain unknown. Authorities have yet to confirm whether the shooting was directly linked to the ongoing movement.
