The appeal against the High Court ruling declaring the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s registration invalid will be heard today, as per the court’s schedule.
The hearing is set to take place before the Appellate Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed. This case involves the appeal filed by the Awami League against the High Court’s decision to annul Jamaat-e-Islami’s registration. The court had initially scheduled a hearing for January 21 after a prior hearing on January 14, but the proceedings were delayed due to the illness of one of the justices.
Liberty News’ court correspondent states that today, the hearing is expected to resume, with Barrister Ehsan S Siddique and Advocate Mohammad Shishir Monir representing Jamaat-e-Islami.
