Argentina and Brazil secured victories in their second matches of the South American U-20 Championship, though the nature of their wins differed greatly.
Argentina triumphed 4-3 over Uruguay, with Claudio Echeverri and Mauricio Carrizo scoring braces. After leading 3-0 in the 52nd minute, Argentina was nearly caught as Uruguay rallied with two quick goals. However, Carrizo’s 69th-minute goal sealed the win despite late pressure from Uruguay.
Liberty News’ sports correspondent states that in contrast, Brazil edged out Colombia 1-0. The only goal came in the 6th minute from defender Lago Di Silva, who scored with a header off a Pedro Henrique corner. Colombia failed to respond, and Brazil held on for the win.
