Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman has reaffirmed the Bangladesh Army’s readiness to do everything necessary to preserve communal harmony across the country.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Sampriti Bhaban at the International Buddhist Monastery in Merul Badda, Dhaka on Sunday morning, General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized the army’s commitment to peaceful coexistence among all communities, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
“We always strive to live in peace with people of all faiths and backgrounds. Bangladesh has a longstanding tradition of communal harmony, and we are working collectively to maintain that spirit,” he said.
He further noted, “This country belongs to everyone. We want to live together with mutual respect and harmony. The army is fully prepared to ensure peace, including in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.”
The event highlighted the army’s active engagement in promoting interfaith unity and upholding the nation’s inclusive values.
