Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, in his address as the newly appointed ‘Colonel of the Regiment,’ emphasized the ongoing modernization and progress of the military, reinforcing the commitment to further enhancing its capabilities.
On Thursday morning, General Waker-uz-Zaman was officially inducted as the 7th ‘Colonel of the Regiment’ at the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre in Rajshahi Cantonment. The ceremony, held at the Shaheed Colonel Anis Parade Ground, was marked by a formal guard of honor and the presentation of the ‘Colonel Rank Badge’ to the Army Chief.
In his address, General Waker-uz-Zaman acknowledged the significant strides in modernizing the Bangladesh Army, stating that the force’s capabilities are continuing to grow and improve. He reaffirmed the Army’s dedication to fostering a professional and skilled force, ready to meet the demands of the modern era.
Liberty News’ national correspondent states that following the ceremony, the Army Chief participated in the 19th Annual Commanders’ Conference, where discussions centered on the regiment’s development, training, and operations, both at home and abroad. He called for all regiment members to stay prepared and equipped to face the challenges of the 21st century. Senior military officials were also present at the event.
