Army Chief General Waker Uzzaman stated that the BDR killings were committed by the then BDR members, and no further discussion on the matter will be entertained. He emphasized the importance of unity for the nation’s future.
Speaking at the National Soldier Martyrs’ Day event at the Rawha Club in the capital on Tuesday (February 25), General Waker Uzzaman stated firmly, “The BDR killings were carried out by the then BDR members. Full stop… there will be no more discussion on this.”
He added, “Those found guilty through the judicial process are indeed guilty, and there is no room for further debate.” The Army Chief warned that internal conflicts could jeopardize the nation’s independence.
General Uzzaman further stated, “A lot has happened in the past seven months. Enough is enough. I want to leave behind a beautiful country for the next generation.”
