Army Chief : July uprising’s injured are the nation’s pride

The injured from the July Uprising are the pride of the nation, and the Bangladesh Army will always stand by them to ensure they never lose morale, said Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman.

Speaking at an iftar and dinner event held on Sunday evening at Sena Malancha in Dhaka Cantonment, General Waqar-uz-Zaman emphasized the importance of the injured from the July Uprising. He exchanged pleasantries with the injured and inquired about their well-being.

“The Bangladesh Army has provided treatment to 4,200 injured individuals so far, and this support is ongoing. The army is also working to provide financial aid to the injured,” the Army Chief stated. He added that businesses and other organizations have also stepped forward to help.

The event was attended by injured students from the July Uprising, senior army officials, distinguished civilians, and directors from various government hospitals. At the end of the event, Eid gifts were presented to the injured on behalf of the Bangladesh Army.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a total of 4,215 injured individuals from the July Uprising have received treatment at Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) across the country. Of these, 989 have successfully undergone surgeries. Currently, 39 individuals are receiving treatment at CMH Dhaka.
