A patrol team of the Bangladesh Army apprehended 16 members of a teen gang yesterday (April 2, 2025) in the Tulshikhali Bridge area of Keraniganj.
At the time of the arrest, the gang members were on a boat in the Dhaleshwari River, playing loud music and brandishing locally made weapons while dancing.
Following the operation, the army took control of the boat and conducted a search, recovering eight machetes and seven axes. Fourteen gang members were initially detained, and based on their information, two additional gang leaders were later arrested. All 16 suspects were subsequently handed over to Keraniganj police.
The army patrol team is currently conducting further operations to apprehend other gang members who managed to flee. Authorities have assured that such operations will continue to maintain law and order across the country.
