Legal, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Prof. Dr. Asif Nazrul has alleged that numerous false cases were filed against Islamic scholars under the rule of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday morning, Dr. Nazrul accused the former administration of targeting Islamic scholars with fabricated charges as part of a broader campaign of persecution and harassment.

“The anti-Islamic Hasina government subjected many Alems and scholars to various forms of oppression,” he wrote on his verified social media page. “One major method was the filing of false cases.”

He further noted that leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam recently met with officials and submitted a list of such politically motivated cases. “Steps are now being taken to withdraw these cases,” he stated.

Regarding the case of Islamic activist Farabi, the adviser said it is currently under review in the higher court. “We have instructed the Attorney General’s Office to ensure justice is served,” he added.

Dr. Nazrul concluded his post by urging prayers and support, saying, “Please pray that I may continue to work for the oppressed and voiceless people.”
