Bangladesh has strongly condemned Israel’s renewed military aggression in the besieged Gaza Strip, calling it a blatant violation of international human rights laws and a serious disregard for established ceasefire agreements.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the escalating violence, particularly the indiscriminate airstrikes targeting densely populated civilian areas. The statement highlighted that the attacks have resulted in significant civilian casualties, including women and children, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian crisis.
Bangladesh called on Israel to immediately cease all military operations, exercise maximum restraint, and uphold its obligations under international humanitarian law. The country also urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take urgent and decisive actions to enforce a ceasefire, protect civilian lives, and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s besieged population.
Reaffirming its steadfast support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, Bangladesh reiterated its commitment to the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Dhaka further emphasized the urgent need to resume comprehensive, just, and lasting peace talks in the Middle East, stressing that diplomatic and peaceful means must take precedence to end the cycle of violence and suffering endured by the Palestinian people.
Liberty News’ national affairs correspondent states that Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside the international community to achieve a sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue, in line with international law, UN resolutions, and the Palestinian people’s aspirations for peace, dignity, and justice.
