Bangladesh enter the three-match T20I series against Pakistan today at the Shere Bangla National Stadium (SBNCS) with renewed confidence, following a historic 2-1 series win over Sri Lanka in Colombo. For a side long plagued by inconsistency, this is a chance to prove their progress is real.

Pakistan, however, remain a daunting opponent. They have dominated Bangladesh in T20Is, winning 19 of 22 encounters, including a 3-0 sweep in Lahore just two months ago. But the Tigers believe home advantage and recent form could tilt the balance.

“We made a good comeback in Sri Lanka. Everyone has taken confidence from that,” skipper Litton Das said on Saturday. “But this is a new game, a new challenge. We’ll need to play our best cricket again.”

Litton’s return to form, promising starts from Tanzid Hasan, and solid contributions from middle-order batters like Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain have added depth to the batting. Bangladesh’s spin arsenal, often their strongest weapon at Mirpur, remains crucial.

The wicket, Litton noted, “looked like a good wicket with something for both bat and ball,” hinting at balanced conditions rather than a slow turner.

Pakistan captain Agha Salman acknowledged the challenge: “Bangladesh at home are always tough. We are excited and ready for the challenge.”

For Bangladesh, this series is about more than just results — it’s about proving they can sustain momentum in T20 cricket.
