Bangladesh must secure a win against Bhutan today to keep their hopes alive in the SAFF U-19 Championship semi-finals, following a frustrating 2-2 draw with the Maldives in their opening group match.

The young Tigers currently sit on one point in Group A, tied with the Maldives. With only the top teams advancing to the knockout stage, a victory against Bhutan is essential for Bangladesh to reach the four-point mark and stay in contention.

Speaking in a video message sent by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), U-19 assistant coach Abul Hossain said, “I’m not focusing on the result of the last match, but on the mistakes we made. We’ve practiced to ensure we don’t repeat those errors. There is no alternative to victory against Bhutan. Insha’Allah, we will leave the field as winners.”

Forward Murshed Ali echoed similar sentiments: “Everyone is determined to give their best and secure three points. We’ll play with full effort and try to make the nation proud. Please keep us in your prayers. Insha’Allah, we won’t disappoint.”

With their SAFF dreams on the line, Bangladesh’s U-19 team is gearing up for a must-win showdown to keep the semi-final doors open.
