Bangladesh couldn’t get past India in their second match of the Women’s U-17 SAFF Championship, going down 2-0. The Bangladeshi side had started the tournament on a positive note, defeating hosts Bhutan 3-1 in their opening game. In contrast, India had made a strong statement by thrashing Nepal 7-0 and continued their winning streak today (Friday).
The match took place at Changlimithang Stadium as part of the second round of the U-17 SAFF Championship. India took an early lead in the 14th minute through Pearl Fernandes. Although Bangladesh had opportunities to equalize and India to extend their lead, both sides struggled to convert chances.
Bangladesh conceded a second goal in the 76th minute, and after that, Arpita Biswas’s team couldn’t recover.
