BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that Bangladesh is not yet ready for elections under the Proportional Representation (PR) system. He claimed that there are hidden motives behind the demand for this system and that it would not be sustainable in the country.
Speaking at a press conference held today (Wednesday, August 13) at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Rizvi alleged that there is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the image of the BNP ahead of the elections.
“The PR system will not work effectively in the country. There is a secret agenda behind it,” he said. Rizvi also blamed the interim government for the deterioration of law and order and urged them to take stricter measures.
