Bangladesh made a commanding start to their three-match T20 International series against the Netherlands, cruising to an eight-wicket victory in the opening match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Saturday evening.

Chasing a modest target of 137 after the visitors were restricted to 136 for 8 in their 20 overs, the Tigers wasted little time in wrapping up the contest. Skipper Litton Das led from the front with a sparkling half-century, guiding his team home with 40 balls to spare.

Litton remained unbeaten on 54 off just 29 deliveries, striking six fours and two towering sixes. He found an able partner in comeback man Saif Hassan, who marked his return to international cricket with a blistering 36 not out from only 19 balls, decorated with one four and three sixes. Together, the duo ensured Bangladesh faced little trouble in overhauling the target, sealing victory at 13.3 overs.

The emphatic win gave Bangladesh a 1–0 lead in the three-match series, with the second T20I scheduled for Sylhet on Monday. The Tigers will now look to wrap up the series, while the Netherlands will aim to bounce back and keep the contest alive.
