Bangladesh are set to face Afghanistan in a bilateral white-ball series in the United Arab Emirates this October, shortly after the conclusion of the Asia Cup.
A source close to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) on Saturday confirmed the fixtures featuring three T20 internationals followed by three one-day internationals.
The proposed schedule has the T20I series beginning on 2 October, with the remaining matches on 4 and 6 October. After a short break, the ODI series is expected to take place on 9, 11 and 14 October. All games will be held in the UAE, though the dates are yet to be officially confirmed.
ACB Chief Executive Nassib Khan welcomed the series, saying, “We are proud to host Bangladesh in this series. This tour highlights the strength of our partnership and reinforces our commitment to staging world-class cricket at neutral venues. Fans can expect exciting contests and fierce competition.”
Before this bilateral contest, Bangladesh will participate in the Asia Cup, scheduled from 9 to 28 September in the UAE. Both Bangladesh and Afghanistan are drawn in the same group and are set to meet on 16 September in the group stage. Should Bangladesh advance to the Super Four, the team is unlikely to return home, instead continuing preparations in the UAE ahead of the Afghanistan series.
