The Bangladesh national football team will take on Nepal in two international friendly matches in the upcoming FIFA International Window in September.
The matches will take place on 6 and 9 September at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) confirmed it on Monday.
Bangladesh, currently placed 183rd in the FIFA rankings, will face 175th-ranked Nepal in two friendlies as part of their preparation for the crucial AFC Asian Cup Qualifier against Hong Kong, scheduled for 9 October in Dhaka.
The Tigers come into these matches after a goalless draw with India in Shillong in March and a narrow 2-1 loss to Singapore in Dhaka in June. They currently sit third in Group C of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Earlier in May, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) senior vice-president and league committee chairman Imrul Hasan stated that the federation was aiming to arrange matches against European teams abroad to enhance the team’s readiness.
Historically, Bangladesh have managed just one win in their last five encounters against Nepal, with one defeat and three draws.
