Bangladesh is set to establish new diplomatic missions in five countries to strengthen trade ties and diplomatic engagement, according to a statement shared on Monday (16 June) by Asif Mahmud, adviser on local government, rural development, and cooperatives in the interim government.
In a post from the verified Facebook page of Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Mahmud stated that the decision comes in response to shifting geopolitical dynamics, global economic realities, and Bangladesh’s graduation from the LDC category.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken the initiative to enhance political relations with Europe and South America, expand trade, and engage Bangladeshi expatriates in development processes.
The new missions will be established in Dublin (Ireland), Oslo (Norway), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Frankfurt (Germany), and São Paulo (Brazil).
