Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team secured a 3-2 series win over Sri Lanka after the final one-day match was abandoned due to rain in Colombo.
Persistent rain forced the cancellation of the sixth and final Youth ODI between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka U-19 teams, handing the series to the visitors. With a 3-2 lead heading into the final match, Bangladesh, led by captain Azizul Hakim Tamim, officially wrapped up the series without needing to play the decider.
Throughout the closely contested series, both teams showcased promising young talents. Bangladesh gained the upper hand with strong all-round performances in the first three matches. Despite a late comeback from the Sri Lankan side, winning the fourth and fifth games, the rain-hit finale left them without a chance to level the series.
This series win marks an important milestone in Bangladesh’s youth cricket development and gives the young Tigers valuable experience ahead of future international tournaments.
