Defending champions Bangladesh will take on Nepal in their second match of the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship 2025 on Sunday (July 13) at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka. The match kicks off at 7:00 PM, following the day’s first fixture between Sri Lanka and Bhutan at 3:00 PM.
Bangladesh, the tournament favorites, began their campaign with a dominant 9-1 win over Sri Lanka. Star performer Sagorika scored a hat-trick, while Mst Munki Akhter netted twice. Captain Afeida Khandaker is optimistic about repeating a similar performance against Nepal.
Nepal also had a strong start, crushing Bhutan 6-1 in their opener. Forward Purnima Roy shined with four goals, including a hat-trick.
Four teams—Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan—are competing in this double round-robin format tournament. The team with the highest points will be declared champion.
Bangladesh will play Bhutan on July 15 and 17, Sri Lanka on July 19, and Nepal again on July 21.
