The Bangladesh Women’s National Football Team has returned home after a difficult two friendly match against Thailand, part of their build-up to next year’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup final round.
The tour proved to be a reality check for coach James Butler’s side, who struggled to cope with Thailand’s pace and precision.
The team arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday evening, landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after completing their short but testing trip.
Bangladesh played two friendlies in Bangkok and came up short on both occasions. They lost the first match 3–0 last Friday and suffered a 5–1 defeat in the second game on Monday. Across the two fixtures, the women in red and green conceded eight goals while finding the net just once — a stark reminder of the challenges that lie ahead before the continental showdown.
