Following criticism over unpaid player salaries in the recently concluded BPL, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced three steps to address financial concerns and ensure timely payments for players.
Liberty News’ sports correspondent states that, the BPL has faced significant criticism, especially regarding unpaid dues, with the Durbar Rajshahi franchise coming under the most scrutiny. In response, BCB has stepped in with the following measures to tackle the issue:
Direct Management of Foreign Players’ Salaries: The BCB will take responsibility for managing contracts and match fees for all international players from the BPL draft, ensuring timely and transparent payments.
Logistical Support for Foreign Players: BCB will provide full logistical support to foreign players to ensure smooth travel arrangements after the BPL.
Improved Financial Protocols for Franchises: BCB will collaborate closely with franchises to establish stricter financial protocols, protecting player interests and streamlining payment processes.
