BNP has halted all its programmes, including a “torch roadshow,” planned for the Victory Day as Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health condition remains unchanged at the Critical Care Unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the decision at a press conference held at the party’s head office in Naya Paltan, Dhaka on Sunday.

He also turned down the prospects for immediate foreign medical trip of Khaleda, saying the medical team is yet to take a decision to this end.

Rizvi requested the countrymen to pray for the speedy recovery of former two-time prime minister.

Khaleda’s personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said local doctors are coordinating with doctors from the US, UK, Singapore, China and Singapore to ensure the best treatment for her in Bangladesh. Khaleda’s daughter-in-law Dr Zubaida Rahman is coordinating with the foreign doctors, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain.

He requested party members and others to avoid crowding the hospital, and instead pray for Khaleda from their respective destinations.
