Gulshan Thana BNP Joint Secretary Kamrul Ahsan Sadhan was gunned down late Sunday night in the capital’s Middle Badda area by unidentified assailants.
Kamrul Ahsan Sadhan, a senior BNP leader, was shot dead in a sudden gun attack by masked assailants near the residence of former Commissioner Kayum in the Gudara Ghat area of Middle Badda. The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, May 25.
According to police and family members, Sadhan was having tea at a roadside stall across from Kayum’s office on Road 4 in Gudara Ghat, accompanied by other party activists, including Kayum’s nephew. Two unidentified gunmen approached and indiscriminately opened fire. Witnesses say both shooters wore masks and fled the scene while firing blank shots to deter pursuit.
Sadhan sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest, back, and neck. He was rushed to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases by colleagues and family members, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Gulshan and Badda police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed. Officer-in-Charge of Badda Police Station, Saiful Islam, confirmed the incident and said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the attackers.
“Sadhan was sitting with others when the shooters attacked. The motive behind the killing is not yet clear. We are investigating the matter from multiple angles,” OC Saiful Islam added.
The deceased, Kamrul Ahsan Sadhan, was also known to be involved in the local cable TV business. His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the local political and business communities.
